Overview
About Me
I grew up in Montana, a very rural state in the USA. I love getting outdoors, hiking, biking, swimming at the lake, etc. For many years I felt more comfortable in the forest than the city. I managed a movie theater for years before deciding to go back to school to study education. (Math & Spanish) After graduating I lived in Spain for 2 years, teaching English as a foreign language to secondary students.
My first trip outside of the US was in 2016. After that I fell in love with traveling. I prefer to travel, rather than be a tourist. I like to meet local people, and stay in places for longer periods of time when possible to really get to know and experience the culture. I have stayed with five families to date, and love the experience - a hotel or hostel simply can't compare. My various host family experiences include being a foreign exchange student, a volunteer, an au pair, and an English teacher.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet interesting people, learn about other cultures, participate in language exchange, and share diverse experiences and ideas.
Beginning December 2023, my husband and I are embarking on a 6-8 month trip. We are hoping to find several longer workaway opportunities, but in between would like to visit some other cities for a few days here and there to explore and meet more people.
Hopefully when we get back home and settled we will be able to host others.
