CURRENT MISSION

I am attempting to start a theatre company in Yangon and learn Burmese along the way.

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in LA, got my BFA in Musical Theatre in England, and now I'm working at a Theatre NGO in Myanmar. Traveling, performing and now Couch Surfing are all part of my quarter life crisis induced attempt to create a community, culture and clarity of mind. Come crash on my couch, I'll bore you with the inconsequential details of my life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My husband and I have a 3 bed room apartment in Yangon, Myanmar. We have 2 spare rooms, 2 big couches, and some spare mattresses. We're happy to hook people up with a place to crash, a hot shower, a cup of coffee, some whiskey, etc. I tried to get verified but I can't because of the sanctions against Myanmar. Our flat is also our office, which is run by a Singaporean company. The only catch to staying with us is you have to disappear without a trace during business hours.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All good... so far. No rapists/serial killers por favor.

Interests

Theatre, dancing, learning languages, cultural relativism, singing, playing the ukulele, reading (Kurt Vonnegut and Joyce are long time favorites), writing, trekking, traveling (obviously), and other things too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Looking at the clouds below me and endless shooting stars above me when I summited Mount Kenya was incredible. Partying at the National League for Democracy headquarters in Yangon on election night truly left me awestruck. I also survived a psychedelic bout of malaria in Ghana.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know some Burmese, but I'm desperate to get fluent in Spanish. I'm competent in all things musical theatre (singing, ballet, tap dancing, acting) if you fancy learning a thing or two about the original American art form. I love learning languages, whichever you have to offer.
