COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New to couchsurfing. A woman I work with at the restaurant suggested it when she found out I was getting ready to travel most of next year. She has traveled extensively, and said it was a wonderful experience.

Interests

I have been spending much of my time working to save for this trip. (I own a green general store. I am also a wardrobe stylist for music videos and commercials. I also wait tables in the evenings.) Other than work, I'm an environmentalist. I care deeply about the planet. I have three dogs and we all live in an old farmhouse on 30 acres of forest just outside of Nashville. I have an MFA in Creative Writing (Poetry), so I love reading.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Floating on my back in the Sea of Cortez with four of my friends one night, staring at the stars. I had an overwhelming feeling of peace in knowing that all of the unexpected life turns, all of the good decisions, and all of the bad decisions I had ever made lead me right to that very moment...and I was exactly where I was supposed to be.

I was leaving a potluck at a local organic farm near my house. It was very late. My friend was walking me to my car & all of a sudden he disappeared. I turned around. He was kneeling in the grass, staring at these strange lights in the grass. Not like fireflies, but like stars. He explained that it was foxfire. He had heard about it his whole life, but had never seen it. We stayed for about an hour, kneeling in the grass like little children, in total awe of something truly magical.
