About Me

Highly creative and free-flowing. A knack for simple, yet awesome vegan/vegetarian food, loving and caring, and very introspective. I Like a good time with family and friends, but need individual time to reflect and refresh. I am artist of several disciplines and trades, and better than a novice when it comes to handy work. Always willing to lend a hand, and not afraid of a hard day's work.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that personal interaction with people in their normal homes and normal lives is so much more rewarding than the commercialized end of traveling. Without going outside the realm of "normal," you'll never do anything amazing.

My environment--Hiking and outdoors, rivers, oceans, mountains, forest, cliffs, buildings, city nights, a new perspective on a frequent basis. My life - art and photography, sketching, ink painting, drawing, being an amazing mom to my 4 beautiful children, and sharing my life with those closest to my heart, and keeping my heart open to new friends and loves. Like to read, write, and watch movies.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of Americana and Indie music, rock, classical, electronica, and more. Really I'm pretty open to all music, though death metal, rap, and country are a little lower on the list. Movies of all sorts, especially those that appeal to my inner geek, and to my intelligence. And thriller/mystery books are my go-to for fiction, with classics like the Sherlock Holmes series and Chroncles of Narnia being a good second, but I also like things that help me grow as a person.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Each time I gave birth, I did so from my own home, using no pain medications, and each time I was amazed at my strength and endurance as well as the fact that something so amazing and complex, yet simple, humble and helpless came from me. Awe. The ocean, in all its power. Awe. The Rocky Mountains. Awe. But I know there is so much more!

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been doing Painting parties out of my home for a year now, and I love the idea of bringing people together, having a glass of wine, putting on some good party tunes and showing them that anyone can paint something to be proud of. I taught natural health for several years when it wasn't as popular as it is now, and am glad that now so many people are open to discussing making life-changing choices that lead to better health.
