ABOUT ME

My boyfriend and I are working professionals who live in Santa Monica, CA. I am a financial analyst for a blue chip company, and he is an Emmy award winning journalist, t.v. host, and bestselling author (www.chrisbalish.com). We are backpacking through Europe for two months.

PHILOSOPHY

We believe in good food, good friends, and having a responsible good time. We are not partiers, but we definitely will go through a bottle of wine at dinner and a few beers at the pub after dinner. We are also both Catholic and believe in treating everyone with respect and courtesy.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are both new to couch surfing, and are not sure what to expect. But we are easygoing, fun to be around, and we promise you'll have a good time and eat good food if you let us stay with you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've never done it, but many of our friends have. And we have hosted many of our friends on our own couch!

I am a foodie, and my boyfriend loves sight-seeing and doing all the tourist stuff. We want your recommendation on nice restaurants in your city, and of course we will treat you if you come with us.

My boyfriend works as a red carpet t.v. host in Hollywood, so we see just about every movie that comes out. I like comedies and my boyfriend likes anything with aliens and/or explosions. I am an avid reader on my iPad. The last three books I read were "Born to Run," by Christopher McDougall, "Carrie," by Stephen King, and "Grapes of Wrath," by Steinbeck. I love classic rock music and my boyfriend loves country. I also know the words to every rap song since 1990.

In 2006 I completed a study abroad program in Salamanca, Spain, and toured the entire country. It was the most amazing time of my life, and a big part of why I want to return to Europe to see more amazing countries and learn their culture.

My boyfriend is the best selling author of two books, and is an excellent writer. He has a literary agent and a television agent, and he knows how to pitch book projects and television shows to Hollywood. He has a million stories of celebrities he's met on the red carpet and can tell many tales of the inside workings of Hollywood.
I have been in the kitchen since I was 12 and I'm an excellent self-taught cook. I can cook a Polish feast (family recipe) that will make you scream "Smacznego!"
