Once mildly content writing magazine copy behind a computer screen, a mass layoff gave me the push I needed to explore the world. I've been teaching internationally for three years now, and am loving every minute.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I discovered the site while living in Korea, then met some fellow surfers while backpacking through Southeast Asia. My school in Bogota has given me what I refer to as a "Barbie couch," so unfortunately I'm only available to meet for food or drinks at the moment.

Interests

Writing, photography, eating, meeting interesting people, trying new things, drinking good wine and good coffee.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music. Some of my faves at the moment: Cut Copy, Foster the People, Miike Snow, Phoenix, Radiohead, Two Door Cinema Club, The xx and Friendly Fires. Some bands that never get old to me: Talking Heads, Dave Matthews and Bob Marley.

Recently I've been reading whatever my middle and high school kids are reading, but enjoy nonfiction. David Sedaris is brilliant.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been able to check off "Great Wall of China" from my enormous to-do list.
