About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To become a global learner and raise children who also want to be global learners.
ABOUT ME
I am an easy going, open minded person. My family is my life and it is my goal to share as much of the world as I can with them. Our family situation is unique as we are a very blended family. I have one biological daughter, 3 adopted children (2 boys, 1 girl), and 2 step children (1 boy, 1 girl). Most of my travels are with the 4 younger ones as the 2 older children race BMX bikes.
PHILOSOPHY
To treat people the way I would like to be treated.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am planning an overland adventure with my four younger kids for Fall 2014. Our goal is to road school around the United States for 4 months. We would love to meet up with other homeschool families and share our experiences with them. To learn more about our trip you can visit our blog at www.hennyjennysbrood.com
I am new to CS, but am willing to host families here at our desert home in Apple Valley, CA. Our house is not big, but we can always find room or if you would prefer, you can camp in our yard. We have 5 acres, so there is plenty of room to set up camp. Water and power is available.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have stayed with friends and family in various states in the US. I also spent 3 weeks with friends in Australia. I have found that it is always best to stay with someone that lives in the area you are visiting. My hosts were able to give me insights to the best local POI. And it was always enjoyable to truly get a feel for what the area is really like. Something that you would never get just by staying in a hotel.
In my own home, I have hosted friends that I met on an off road forum. They came out to California from the East Coast to experience some of the off road trails we have here in Southern California. At the time, I had a couple extra 4wheel drive trucks available that they were able to drive. It was great showing them all of the best spots and help them get to a couple large events that were taking place during the time they were here.

Teach, Learn, Share
I know a little about a lot of things. Lol I have a general understanding of cooking, auto mechanics, welding, map and compass reading, outdoor survival skills, and vehicle navigation in technical terrain. Of course, I am a trained teacher and always love to "talk shop" on the latests trends in the educational field.
I am not skilled AT ALL in foreign languages or music, but I would love learn!
