About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Travel more, meet people with similar interests, experience new things and have fun! Save the world! Learn and educate more people how to be healthier, happier and help look after this planet. Create zero waste is my mission.

ABOUT ME

I love to travel. Thanks to my parents I first went to Europe when I was 7 years old. The travel bug bit me hard! I have been back there another 15 times since, plus many other countries. I enjoy experiencing the many different cultures, lifestyles and nature around the world and in this beautiful country I live in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first tried it in Belgium and stayed with a really nice guy who was a fantastic host. Hopefully i can help some other travellers have a fun time in Melbourne.
Years ago some couch surfers from Chile and Germany stayed with me and helped celebrate my birthday.. they even surprised me with a cake in the morning! so sweet!! :-)
Many years later I got to stay with this friend in Chile and experienced Santiago like a local.

Interests

My family is very important. I have a close relationship with my parents.
I love taking photos and want to learn more about photography.
I am passionate about nature and environmental issues such as conservation, sustainability, recycling, animal welfare.
Recently I had a big change in lifestyle. Happiness, health and wellbeing are of major importance to me. Meditation, massage, good food, positivity, rest, reiki, crystals, essential oils etc.. I am always researching and seeking ways to improve my health and fitness.
I love rainbows and lots of colour.
Lately I have been getting back into art and being creative. I enjoy making jewellery, drawing, making cards, and decorating things. I love gardening and watching my plants grow. Nothing better than eating fruit and veggies you have grown yourself! I love going to the beach.
I am mostly vegetarian but occasionally eat seafood.
I love animals. I don't have domestic pets, I hate seeing animals in cages. At my home we have a family of magpies that come everyday and we hand feed them. We love them. They bring so much joy!
My favourite cars are volkswagen beetles. I have 2 of them!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love many kinds of music, from ABBA, the Eurythmics, Prince, Michael Jackson, The Eagles, David Bowie, Air Supply, Green Day, The Living End, to some electronic music like breaks, drum and bass, etc.
I love MUSE! I have travelled to many countries to see them live in concert and even met them in Adelaide. Others include the Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, the Presets, Royksopp, Digitalism, Paul van Dyk, Beastie Boys and loads more.

I don't watch many movies these days, I try to use my time productively. Movies I do watch tend to be based on true stories if any.. If I watch TV it's usually wildlife or travel documentaries. David Attenborough is my favourite.
I have been watching Hay House movies like You can heal your life, The Shift etc.
I don't mind a horror like The Conjuring, that scared the S*#t out of me hehe!

Books I have been reading are mostly self help book by Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer, Don Miguel Ruiz etc such as You can do it, The Mastery of Love, SUMO(shut up, move on). Also Lonely Planet and other travel guides.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am not a good swimmer and had a fear of swimming for many years. Just recently I got over that and tried surfing and a couple of days later snorkelling. It was amazing to be in the sea with all of these beautiful fish swimming right up to my face. It's a whole new world to me and I can't wait to snorkel again!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm happy to give advice and sometimes meet people visiting Melb who want to experience what this fantastic city has to offer.. music, art culture and lifestyle..
I am super keen to learn more about the world and explore places I have not been to. Couchsurfing is a fantastic opportunity to stay with locals and experience different cultures and I want to do it a lot more. I really want to meet more people with similar environmental interests and alternative lifestyles.
