About Me

I am a 24 year old world traveler from America. In the past 1.5 years I have visited Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and lived in Australia for 10 months.

I am always looking for a new adventure and new people to connect with. I am easy going and very keen to do anything outdoors.

I'm just looking to meet some locals while traveling or meet travelers that have some good stories to tell.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing to meet new people and learn new things. While staying in hostels is sometimes fun and a very easy way to meet a lot of different people quickly, I am looking to make more of a personal connection with locals or fellow travelers who are working. Living with a local is one of the best ways to learn about the culture of a nation and make a lasting friendship.

Interests

Anything outdoors and definitely anything to do with the water, boating, scuba diving, stand up paddle boarding, hiking, walking, biking, yoga, reading, traveling, movies, cinema, art museums, theater, going for car rides, silence, star gazing, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like classical music, classic rock, some of the current top 40's stuff, and I'm not going to lie, I really like Taylor Swifts new music. Right now my favorite song is You Don't Own Me by Grace ft. G-Eazy.

I am much more of a movie person than a music person. Some of my favorites include My Big Fat Greek Wedding, The Godfather, James Bond, Casablanca, When Harry Met Sally, What Happens in Vegas, Gone in 60 Seconds, Lost in Space, all the Harry Potters. But honestly, I will watch pretty much anything but scary movies.

I will also read pretty much anything. I am currently reading Winter of the World. The only goal I have set for 2017 is to read a book every two weeks for the entire year. I only read 12 books last year (mainly non fiction, but a few fiction books based on past wars).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have raced down an active volcano and a toboggan in Nicaragua. It was awesome. We put on orange jumpsuits after climbing to the top of Cerro Negro outside of Leon, Nicaragua and then took turns speeding down the steep volcano. They clocked us and awarded the fastest boy and fastest girl a prize, the infamous Lava Shot Challenge. Somehow, even though I was trying not to be the fastest because I really didn't want the prize, I managed to beat all my female companions. The Lava Shot Challenge was 4 shots of spicy pepper infused rum followed by a waiting period and it was one of the worst experiences of my life! But I completed it and received a victory tank top and hat. The entire day was off the charts and Leon will forever be one of my favorite places in Central America because of this experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share tons of knowledge about the countries I have visited (USA, Canada, Mexico, Honduras, Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, and the Galapagos Islands) and the things I am learned while traveling. I also really enjoy talking about the deeper things in life like how the universe came to be, social issues, political policies, philosophy, dimensional-ism, religion, environmental issues, etc. I also enjoy cooking with other people, it is a great way to get to know someone because you can't be distracted with technology, it is just you, the food, and the conversations.
