CURRENT MISSION

Having spent all of my 20s studying i hope to spend the next few years travelling and learning from the world out there! I want to make new experiences, eat new food and meet new people! And hopefully avoid the British weather for as long as possible!

ABOUT ME

I'm Jenny and this is my boyfriend Simon. we both finished our PhDs in London last year and decided to ditch the lab and head out for a year long round the world trip! The year long trip was cut short due to lack of funds and so we found ourselves in Australia on working holiday visas! We will continue our trip next year and are enjoying Oz in the meantime :)
We're excited to meet lots of new people from all over the world and especially to eat as many new dishes as possible!
We love a bit of sight seeing but also just to hang out in a new place, eat, drink and go hiking etc.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Would love to host in the future but am currently a homeless traveller with no couch to offer.
Am hoping to meet many couch surfers on my RTW trip and maybe even be lucky enough to stay on some couches!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In my old house in Hammersmith my housemates and I hosted a few couch surfers.

I'm a total wimp when it comes to scary books and films, so I stick to travel, historic novels, comedies, romance and drama. Some of my all-time favourite films are Star Wars (the old AND new ones), Indiana Jones, Fried Green Tomatoes, Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman (pretty girly, I know). I love to read and at the moment can't get enough of books placed in India. One of my favourites is Shantaram (a must read if you head to Mumbai). I also love Exodus, the Pillars of the Earth, the Physician, Gone with the Wind etc.
I like quite old-school music, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Oasis, Blur, Madonna, Jefferson Airplane, Bob Marley and so on.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

One of my best experiences was living in Johannesburg for 3 months a few years ago. it opened my eyes to the world out there and showed me how much I love to travel. A two week road trip along the Garden Route was definitely a highlight!
I loved living in London and feel like it's truly my second home.
But my greatest adventure has definitely been my round-the-world trip which I'm hoping to continue for many years!

I've been a volunteer with Greenpeace for 3 years now and like learning and talking about environmental issues from around the world.
I can teach Chemistry or a bit of Math and am fluent in German and English.
Would love to learn Spanish or Hebrew and am currently using Duo Lingo to learn Italian for a trip to Venice.
