I'm a creative writing grad student in Chicago. I write (and think) about spirituality, sexuality, and social justice. I'm polyamorous and have a few people I deeply care about and consider "vacation homes" across the country. Community is an important word to me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've done a lot of traveling through groups that included home stays. It's couchsurfing-esque right? I've stayed in strangers' homes in Brasil, Germany, and all across the US. I love it! I haven't yet done this yet on my own - without it being organized by someone else.

Interests

I just got turned on to backpacking, and I'm such a fan. I've always loved the outdoors and hiking. Also, meditating, reading, art galleries, yoga, petting anything furry, ice cream (that's an interest, right?).

Movies - X-men series, Blood Sport, The Stand; LOTR trilogy, Kar Wai Wong films, Catherine Breillat films, The English Patient, Wings of Desire, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Tombstone, Never Ending Story. I'll admit when I'm lonely I watch chick flicks or horror movies (and then freak out).

Music - Currently loving Alabama Shakes, Tallest Man on Earth, Joe Pug, Sharon Van Etten. I'll always have a soft spot for Smetana's Moldau, Lakme's duet, Willie Nelson, Sara Vaughan, Indigo Girls, Led Zeplin, Lauren Hill, Gram Parsons, 2nd Chapter of Acts, U2's Joshua Tree album, Heart, Ryan Adam's Cold Roses album, Queen, DeVotchKa, Furr by Blitzen Trapper, Don't Fear the Reaper, Nothing Compares 2U (I shaved my head years ago because of that video). When I need to concentrate I listen to Kind of Blue.
