About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be Safe. Have Fun

ABOUT ME

The most recent book I read was Jonathan Livingston Seagull. It was very amazing. But don't be fooled! I don't read very often. It was a great book, and fast read. This is as of nov 8th, 2012, so I should update it within the year, when I read my next book.
I spend much of my time playing music, usually jazz, but also everything else. On guitar, bass, or fiddle. I enjoy good food, good beer, languages, thoughts, philosophy and deep analysis of everything, and also rap music and pool. I also enjoy mixing drinks.
I speak. But not only when spoken to, just most of the time. I'm down to converse. I can also chop onions moderately fast, although I get a little emotional when I do it.

PHILOSOPHY

Is the absence of ideology an ideology itself?

There are no universal truths or fundamental principals, just dogmas. That being said, the most important thing in life is awareness.

Music, Movies, and Books

wow, i think this one is difficult. I like to make music, and if I had to make a timeline chronologically of what got me here it would be: third eye blind, sublime, the ataris, emo rock, screamo rock, jazz, Christian McBride, Miles, Incubus, The Shins, Radiohead, Billie Holiday, Nicholas Payton, RH Factor, Earth Wind and Fire, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, 2 Chainz, Kanye West, Juicy J, J. Cole, Hit Boy, Tom Waits, Django, Stephane Grapelli.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Angels Landing one day in Zion National Park sitting on the edge of a 2000 ft cliff, reflecting on life and death. Then 2 days later seeing a friend slip off a cliff and needing to respond fast to save his life. Its very peculiar how different the two emotions of imminent death feel. Its kind of a bummer to write this in the "amazing thing" section, but also kind of weird that, to me, that word necessarily means, when have you been so elated and awed by beauty and rarity, that you forgot about some more complex realities of the world? That would be Disneyworld, when I was 7.

Teach, Learn, Share

hm. if you want to learn something about musc, I could teach that. But also, I have an eclectic collection of random tid bits of knowledge in my head about mixology, plate tectonics, and bike racing. I enjoy food culture and food science too! Teach me more about that stuff! And also about geology!
