Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

Is to not have a cliched mission statement. To put it simply, I want to get the most out of everyday here and everyday there, through the good the bad and the ugly.

ABOUT ME

I spent the last 7 months working and traveling around Australia and now I'm doin' a little stint in South-East Asia before I bust back to the great white North. Like to step off the beaten path whenever possible. I'm a big fan of the one day on, one day off thing, I.E. some adventure and some chill. Story-telling... love it... tell me a story.

PHILOSOPHY

Keep it real, but not too real. Enjoy the small and medium things. Acknowledge that sometimes big things are out of your control. When they're not, be confident in the decisions you make about them.

I think Kanye West is a fucker, and I'm not overly into him or his music, but he did say something that really struck a chord in me:

"I'd rather be hated for what I am, than loved for what I am not."

That song Good Life is real catchy though ;)

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a neophytye in the CS2 project, but I think it's an incredible idea with a solild infrastructure and foundation. One might stay I'm still testing out the waters and seeing how they go... I haven't actually surfed any couches yet, but hey... baby steps.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet.

Intereses

Exploring anything foreign, then maybe talking about it. Getting my mind blown by randomness and things I don't understand. Good food and of course... music.

I love them beats, love them treats and love them geeks. Translation: I'm really into music, but who isn't. I guess you could say it goes pretty deep with me, but lately I've been most interested in remix culture and trying to get some of my own beats and mixes together.

Música, películas y libros

Books:
Recently read Last Night a DJ Saved my life, which is a mind blowing history of the DJ from the ground up. Next on my list is Can't Stop Won't Stop by Jesse Chang which should be bangin'. Also in the line are some Paulo Coelho and Jack Kerouac.

Music:
I'm into and open to anything but first and foremost:
Fucking love the hip-hop: the bump, the crunk and funk, Love the electro and LOVE the mash-up and remix. Past and present music gods: girl talk, diplo, spank rock, wu-tang clan, snoopy, eno, db and the talking heads, joy division, giorgio moroder, mj... this list could go on forever. More recently really starting to love the house.
I'm also really into folky stuff, saw some interesting gypsy music recently and like the dub the reggae and the dancehall. That new south rakkas is hot.

My soul music is: Iron & Wine, Zero 7 and Thievery Corporation.

Movies: next on the list: the Machinist. Saw that one "control" about ian curtis recently... it was dope.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I can teach you how to use your computer, especially if it's a Mac. Share: many a crazy photos from the last 9 months of my life... if you are so inclined. And some mixtapes I've done, if you're into that sort of thing.

Ableton Live... I'm REALLY on that shit.
