Hi there!

I seem to be happily stuck in a weird perpetually traveling lifestyle in which I spend 6-7 months out of the year working, then the rest meandering about the world in some capacity. Usually by foot. Well... the working has involved traveling as of late as well, but that's beside the point.

Currently, I work in Antarctica doing cargo stuff for the flights around the continent during the northern hemisphere winters, and miscellaneous backcountry construction and maintenance for the Appalachian Mountain Club in New Hampshire and New York during the spring. The summers and early autumns are usually that walking time I mentioned before.

I'm mildly addicted to long-distance hiking. And books with non-standard syntax structure. I love a good wine and if I can go somewhere and learn something new, I'm a happy man. I try reallly hard to not say "no" to new experiences just because I'm not sure what they are.

I love hearing stories. Some of the best stories I've heard over the years are from random encounters; while hitchhiking, thru-hiking, airports, and friends of friends crashing on the couch. This seems like a great way to continue that.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I can teach about lots of outdoorsy things: hiking, climbing, biking, etc. I also have some background in Ableton Live, and some other music composition software. I was, before I started my perpetual traveling, in the IT industry, so I could help you out with those sort of things.

As to learning: I'm happy to learn just about anything. I just love experiencing new things!

Stories, plenty of stories about cabins in the woods, hikes over 2,000 miles long, basement heavy metal concerts in Boston, fire eating, playing with penguins, skiing down 45 degree slopes in the backcountry, cross-country drives, hitchhiking, mountaintop thunderstorms, all the weird tales from when I was a body piercer, thoughts on cities around the United States and the world.

Otherwise? New experiences. Ever had this thing that you wanted to try or place you wanted to explore but for whatever reason didn't? I'm that person to pitch the idea to.
