In my efforts to become a universal human being (homo universalis) I've tried to develop myself as an athlete, tried out jogging but ended up cycling and the last 6 or 7 years I picked up kayaking, variating from following Dutch or German rivers downstream to seakayaking on the Wadden Sea in the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark or kayaking within 36 hours the route of the Elfstedentocht (the famous skating tour of about 200 kilometers long in Friesland). In the field of arts I developed my singing qualities in a pop choir and I've participated in two musicals, including My Fair Lady. In the field of science I have graduaded as a human geographer, in my professional life I'm aiming to evolve to a coach/adviser in order to share my knowledge, experience and skills with other people in the hope we can make the world a bit better.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

A few years ago I moved to an appartment with a nice panoramic view of my hometown Groningen. My efforts to share my view on the world match very nicely with sharing the panoramic view of my hometown. That, and of course sharing some time with travelers and exchange views, knowledge, experiences and enjoying showing a bit of kindness to each other.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Cycle trip along the North Sea Cycle Route. In 2006 I cycled with my good friend Lieuwe through Denmark, through Norway via the Rallervegen through Hardangervidda, via Shetland and Orkney, through Scotland to Newcastle. It took 8 ferries, 2200 kilometers and five weeks to get back home.
