ABOUT ME
**Not available to host from September 9th-October 20th as I will be away from Louisville.**
Hi friends! I'm Jerome and I'm a medical student in Louisville, KY. I grew up on a farm in western Kentucky, but I moved to Louisville in 2012 to attend university and the city has been Home ever since. When I'm not studying or working in clinic, I love to run, hike, have coffee dates with friends, advocate for health equity and public health, go out to drink and dance, and plan future travels.
Throughout undergrad and during my gap year before medical school, I was fortunate to visit several countries in Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Europe as a backpacker, student, hitchhiker, English teacher, and volunteer. If I wasn't doing Medicine, I think I would probably be teaching English online from a cafe somewhere in Patagonia (favorite place I've ever been) and spending my days hiking, backpacking, and cycling. Nevertheless, I'm excited to be entering a profession I love and one that I hope will bring great joy and meaning.
I discovered Couchsurfing during my first trip abroad at 19, and all the incredible people I've met on here, in hostels, or in other settings while backpacking are what keep me on the site despite being too busy to participate often. I love the city of Louisville and I would be thrilled to host you in my home if my roommates and I are available during the dates you request. We welcome people from all walks of life and are an LGBTQ+ friendly home!

Climbing to the summit (3,726 m) of Mt. Rinjani in Lombok, Indonesia! I've definitely hiked at higher altitudes, but this peak was especially fun to get to due to the conditions.
