I try to embody the phrase “Adventure is out there”. I believe that life is one great adventure and the world is filled with invigorating places to explore. I don’t want to just visit a country; I want to experience the country. That means eating where the locals eat, engaging in friendly conversations with residents, traveling off the beaten path, and learning all we can about the culture.

I love to share stories, enjoy a cup of tea, listen to other’s life experiences, relax with a book, hike through nature, capture the world through a camera lens, discuss world issues, camp under the stars, learn to cook local cuisine, and dance the night away. I am always on the move, trying new things and enjoying all that life has to offer.

Originally from San Diego, my girlfriend and I are enjoying our second year of living in Australia. We moved here beginning of 2018 hoping to gain more work experience in our respective fields. Ari gets excited about bats, I get excited by numbers. We believe that opposites attract which is why we travel so well together. I work with data in either the financial sector or as a data visualization expert and she works in wildlife conservation + photography. Numbers are my game and creating stories with that data is my profession.

We often forget that this wonderful tool exists, but if we have learned anything from traveling, its that making friends in unexpected places leaves an incredible impact, and small acts of kindness to travelers in need, even more so. We have had some wonderful experiences on couch surfing and are hoping to continue utilizing this community, and hopefully, soon become hosts ourselves!
