PHILOSOPHY

I am a very private person and believe in live and let live. I choose not to try to impose my beliefs or world view on anyone and appreciate the same from my guests or hosts. But if I am forced into a discussion I am very oustpoken about my conservative philosophy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently housesitting / property caretaking / maintenence in various locations in the Americas where I am provided room and sometimes board in exchange for my management and maintenance skills. I spend 2 weeks to 6 months at the various locations where I travel and sometimes the end/start dates leave anywhere from two weeks to two months between assignments.

So I never know where I will be "couchsurfing" until a few weeks before I get there. I have excellent references from my long term assignments and will provide a clean criminal history background check.

NOTE: I will seldom couchsurf for more than two consecutive nights because I will normally be on the way to a new longer term house sitting or property caretaking assignment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing effort will be mid February, 2013 in Montana, Utah, Nevada, or Caribbean areas, and will be sporadic after that depending on my long term assignments. I have a long term assignment starting in June, 2013 in the Caribbean.

Interests

I am drawn to beautiful vistas and solitude so I can work on a book I am writing and take a few pictures. I am a private pilot so sometimes if I am at location long enough I check out in a rental aircraft and do some flying. I also love to snorkel...used to scuba but not for several years. Play a little blues guitar.

Not much into pop culture but enjoy classic blues or rock music and reading.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first time I saw El Capitan in Yosimite; landing in a private aircraft through a pass into Culebra, Puerto Rico, the serenity and awesome scale of the desert southwest, landing my Cessna 182 on a gravel bar in the middle of a river in Alaska.
