ABOUT ME

Married for 20 years with children. Love road trips (especially with boards on the roof), taking the long way home, seeing new places, meeting new people/locals, or just going back to cool places we haven't been for a while. I like finding local "mom and pop" places to eat while on vacation instead of eating at "everywhere, USA" restaurants- if the parking lot is full, I'm there. An incurable neat-freak that might start cleaning your home at any moment, unless strictly forbidden. A cross between Mr. Fixit and Let's-Build-Something, so if there's stuff to do, let's git-r-done!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Still new to CS.com, but have been couch surfing since waaaaay back when I was kicked out of my crib in my parents bedroom after my baby sister was born.
"Kid's, don't have kids! Life's tough enough without 'em."

Interests

Surfing is my number one activity and I've switched to riding a longboard in the last few years. I love woodworking and have recently been experimenting with wood veneers to make marquetry pieces as gifts for friends and family. I'm an incurable pack-rat and dumpster-diver, so I collect scrap lumber from local mill shops to build things like cutting boards and more recently, hollow-wood longboard surfboards. I'd also like to try building a strip canoe or kayak. Lastly, I like good craft brews.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The moment I first met my wife; the birth of our two children; the Napali Coast, Waimea Canyon, surfing Hanalei Bay, Kauai; Pretty much all of Hawai'i; driving the PCH from Monterey Bay to Hermosa Beach; touring San Simeon; surfing Lake Michigan; seeing the Rockies for the 1st time driving from Denver to Breck; canoeing the Loxahatchee River; the eerie clanging sound the bars on the one-way gate makes as you walk through it from the San Diego side, into Mexico.

a Local's insight into things to do in and around Palm Beach county. If there's waves, surfboards and surf lessons (if needed). What more could you need!?
