ABOUT ME

We are Mary and Caitlin - two friends from Central NJ in our late 20s! We just came back from our 3 week cross country road trip (to California and back) and met so many new friends along the way all over the country! Now we are addicted to travelling and want to travel as much as possible - even if it's just a quick weekend adventure! We think there is nothing better than exploring a new city and meeting all types of different people. Our mission is to eventually visit every major city in the country (as well as plenty of small towns in between!)

Mary refinishes furniture for a living, and Caitlin renovates houses. And we teamed up and also have a side business building rustic weathered wood furniture (Caitlin builds it and Mary finishes it)!

We are both HUGE into music and have an acoustic duo together called Red Velvet. Mary sings and Caitlin plays guitar!

When we travel we want to truly EXPERIENCE other parts of the country - not just visit tourist traps and take pictures. We love getting a true insider's look into the cities we visit - hence why we love couch surfing! We feel like it is a great way to truly experience the people and culture of the areas we visit! We've met so many interesting and awesome people all over the country and want to continue making new friends!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We were very graciously hosted by so many awesome people on our cross country road trip! Now we are looking to pay it forward and host here in NJ! Caitlin's house is right on the Raritan Bay with awesome views of the water and distant views of NYC.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Our experience couchsurfing has been nothing but GREAT! We have met so many wonderful people and now have friends all over the country!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

The most amazing thing we have seen is the sheer diversity of our country! On our cross-country road trip we saw everything from swamps to deserts to mountains to beaches to farmland. When we look at our travel pictures, it's hard to believe they were all taken in the same country, let alone in the same continuous trip! So at least to us, that is pretty amazing!
