ABOUT ME

Hi! Jess and Dylan here. Jess says: I'm a social worker and administrator at a college. I love to cook, eat, sing, dance, read, think, talk... While I enjoy having alone time, I can easily hold my own in a conversation. I'm fairly low-key, easy-going, and always trying to grow. :) Dylan says: I'm a school teacher. I like to meet new people and experience new things. I'm a friendly guy, a little on the quiet side, but I'd like to think I'm a good host, at least!

PHILOSOPHY

Jess says: I suppose the closest I can come to answering this is to say that I seek that which is Good and Beautiful for myself and for others. Dylan says: Do I have one?

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We're looking forward to meeting people from all over the place and sharing our amazing city (Portland!!!) with them. Phase two of the plan involves traveling around the world to visit all of the people we've hosted! (Just kidding... sort of!).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've been lucky enough to host a few lovely couples from abroad (two from France!). They were able to help me learn my French choir music, which was an unexpected bonus. :) We've enjoyed being able to help out fellow travelers, introducing them to the likes of Portland landmarks and rice krispies treats.

兴趣

Dancing (tango, swing, blues), languages, traveling, live music, books, art, hiking. Oh, and food. That's a big one! (And Jess likes wine and beer, too. Dylan... not so much).
Dylan has a sailboat as well and if the weather is friendly, would be happy to take you out on the river.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Jess says: Shared a serene hilltop with a monk in Tibet during a religious festival. It magically rained prayer flags on us as we sat, side-by-side, in silence. Dylan says: living in Taiwan for 3 years, teaching English and building an amazing community of friends.
