Hi I’m Jess. I’m from the UK and have been in NZ for a year on the north island. I just recently (Dec 2018) came to the south island to continue my NZ adventure. I love meeting people and finding out about all the hidden treasures from locals. I’m keen to make friends, share stories and just enjoy the company of likeminded people. I’m into taking pics and there’s so much to photograph in NZ. I started this current trip in September 2017 and splashed out on a fancy camera so now I’m spending my days using it as much as possible. I’ve been travelling on and off for a number of years so I’m not the ‘typical’ backpacker now... I wouldn’t say I’m old and boring but I do enjoy hiking more than partying. I leave only footprints, I’m tidy and don’t mind helping out if you need any jobs doing.

I’m on couch surfing because (I’d be lying if I didn’t say to save money) to meet people and find out the secrets of a place. I don’t want to go just where all the visitors go. I want to know where the locals go too. And hey, maybe I can make some friends along the way.
