About Me

Im a 20 year old student from London studying a Comparative Literature degree (I know, what the fuck even is that?!) Basically, it means I like reading in different languages. I'm currently in my second year so I'm trying to madly fit in as much travelling as possible in between study but next year, when I graduate, is the biggie...

I'm half spanish, half English drifting from the Canary Islands and mainland Spain (Alicante) before moving to London. I now spend my days studying, saving to travel or writing (I write for some local papers in London and have my own blog). I'm a real foodie, so when me and my boyfriend host people here in London, we always try and introduce them to exciting foods. This is definitely something I would love couch surfers to share with me!

I love dancing.I've been in a few shows around London so would be happy to show you some moves! (Everyone needs a bit of shuffling in their lives). As I love a good dance, exploring the music scene when I travel is really important to me.

I really hope to meet some interesting people and hopefully exchange some exciting experiences. My next big trip starts next month; I'll be travelling around Europe with two of my friends for the summer...wish me luck!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Before I was introduced to couchsurfing, I always used to go for camping sites and hostels. Whilst I've got some amazing memories from these trips and met very interesting people, I wanted something more, something different.

I'm on couchsurfing because of people. I've always travelled a lot since I was very young and moved from place to place, but now I want to experience countries through local people rather than experience it through an organised group, hostel, company, whatever.

Yes, it's great that couchsurfing allows travellers to see the world on a budget, but It also lets you sit down with interesting people and have them cook for you, or you for them, and find out something new about others and, more importantly, yourself.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: at the moment I'm really into jazz, soul and blues so would love to explore bars and clubs with live music of this kind.

Movies: Not going to lie to you, I'm not a film snob or connoisseur. The more cheesy action the better, cars, explosions: the lot. (And yes, I would happily watch all 7 fast and furious films in a day). Maybe this is something you can help me with!

Books: I'm a literature student so books are my thing! I'm really into reading books across cultures. At the moment, my favourites come from Palestinian and African poetry and prose. My all time favourite, though, will always be Tom's Midnight garden because it was my first novel that I read by myself when I was young and I've loved reading ever since.
