About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"Carpe Diem" I have many bucket list items related to travel my two main ones are to live overseas for a minimum of 6 months which I am currently in the process of and to have travelled to 30 countries by the age of 30, I call this plan "30 by 30!"
ABOUT ME
I'm Jess, I'm 25 and grew up in Melbourne, Australia. I recently moved to Vancouver Canada on a 2 year working holiday visa. I spent the last three years teaching in a secondary school back in Melbourne, a job that I loved but I felt I needed to explore the world more and learn more about myself which is why I made the move to Vancouver.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to live my life without regrets. I operate under the philosophy that it's better to regret something you have done than something you haven't. I believe in going out there and seizing the opportunities that you can. I have "carpe diem" tattooed on my right wrist to remind me of this commitment I have made to myself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
This is the first time I have used couch surfing but I'd like to use it to find a few couches to crash on and build up positive relationships with those who have similar interests in travelling and life. If I find the experience to be successful I would definitely consider hosting in the future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am new to couch surfing so I don't have any experiences just yet but I am looking forward to updating this section of my profile soon :)
Interests
I'm fairly open minded and willing to try new things. My main interests aside from travel are sport, television shows, photography and music.
- photography
- traveling
- music
- surfing
- scuba diving
- sports
Music, Movies, and Books
For movies I am usually interested in comedies.
When it comes to music I have a very broad taste and will pretty much listen to anything that sounds good.
I'm not a huge reader but I prefer non fiction over fiction books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The coolest thing I've ever done while travelling was sky diving in New Zealand. I am absolutely terrified of heights but I somehow managed to sign up for it and get on a plane and do it. It was one of the best experiences of my life :)
