我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I am about to start hosting again, since I now have a small spare room in my statehouse. I like helping people out with accommodation and showing them around my town.
I love meeting new people and I think surfing on other couches around the world is a pretty amazing thing to do.

兴趣

I love learning (I'm currently undertaking research in environmental science and sustainability) and working outdoors. I also paint and play ukulele. I am lucky enough to be able to devote some of my time to volunteering and I find it very, very rewarding.

I recently spent two months as a volunteer research assistant on a Christmas Island conservation project (the 'Galapagos of the Indian Ocean'). It was amazing!

Stories! I love sharing stories with people, especially hearing theirs. It's a great way of getting to know someone, of looking at the world in a creative way, and everything in life has a story.

I've been playing ukulele for about two years - can teach a beginner a few bits, but happy to learn from more experienced musicians!!
I used to play the flute for many years, not so much now.

I am happy to go for a landscape painting session with anyone - I'm an artist from way back but have only started landscape painting fairly recently.
I think everyone can make art and would love to share my skills if you would like to learn.

I like sharing skills and knowledge, I try to encourage community change through collaborating on projects and exchanging stories. I recently completed a sustainability leadership course and I could talk about that for ages :-) It was the best!!
