I moved to California to focus on my career as a DJ & Producer, I also work as Brand Ambassador for Paul Oakenfold's Electronic Music Academy/ DJ Camp at the Los Angeles Film & Recording School. I was blessed to be able to follow my dreams out here but it hasn't been easy. It's taken a sizable student loan, 2 personal loans, my life savings, and a part time job with work-study to survive, and I just found out my position will be ending in 34 hours. My boss is great and he's been able to get me a few extensions but alas all things must come to an end, with work study you're only allotted so many hours.

I was able to find rent in LA at 600.00 a month for a while, unfortunately my live-in landlord was hording the money and was evicted twice, and because there was no where else for me to go I lived in three different houses with her each time she moved. In addition to a number of heath and safety violations that went on over a period of 6 months my breaking point came when her "moving helper" robbed me, which was the straw that broke the camel's back, I left as soon as I could.

I was able to find a sublet for 9 weeks during the summer, and knew I'd be moving August 1st, I just never imagined my work study would end at the same time as my temporary lease (sublet). but thems the breaks I guess. I have been searching everyday for a room for rent but now that I need to find another job I'm unsure of how best to proceed, I'm scared right now and am mentally preparing for the possibility of being homeless, fortunately when I moved here I bought car, which means I can at least live in that until I get on my feet again.
