Overview
About Me
I’m a Masters student at the University of British Columbia studying forestry and restoration ecology. That’s the boring part of the intro, mostly I just love exploring new place and seeing the nitty gritty side of nature. I’m an avid hiker and backpacker who tends to move too slowly because I’m consistently distracted by plants, insects, and the like. Im big into craft beer and coffee when it’s available but I won’t turn my nose up at anything. I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to bounce around abit and have met some kind and generous people along the way. I plan on continuing to explore new places/meet new people and would like to open up my house to anyone looking to do the same (assuming I have one).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It seems like a cool community that lets people experience new areas from the eyes of its residents. I enjoy checking out touristy sites but its provides a totally different perspective on travel. Not to mention the benefit of meeting new people!

Music, Movies, and Books
My musical tastes vary a ton but I usually end up with alternative to indie. I also love podcasts and tend to have those playing more than anything else.
I'm really into books about exploration (usually polar) and ancient history but I also like high fantasy so the LOTR series, GOT, and Kingkiller Chronicle (Name of the Wind).
I can do ANY movie! From action to horror to comedy, it just depends on my mood.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent a summer living on an uninhabited island between the US and Canada.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know tons about the natural world so I can make for a fun hiking partner (or really boring depending on your interests). I've worked with botany, aquatic entomology (insects), geology, and other outdoorsy fields.
I'm just starting to get into SUSTAINABLE foraging and wild crafting which I think is pretty neat.
I can share a coffee, cocktail, or some conversation
What I Can Share with Hosts
