I'm a Canadian teaching Environmental Studies in Bhutan at the Royal Thimphu College. I've been teaching in Bhutan for the last 5 years, while also conducting PhD research through Wageningen University in the Netherlands.

I have a number of conferences I need to attend for my PhD that are scattered throughout Europe and Asia. It is convenient to access local knowledge about locations through things like couchsurfing, that I wouldn't get by just booking a hotel.
