I got my account three years ago at the last minute in order to get a much needed respite from college and then haven't used it since! That is until now as I am freshly out of college and would love to get more involved in this as it's a wonderful concept based on hospitality!

I'm not the most tech savvy, but can someone please tell me if it's possible to leave a reference if you've forgotten (deplorably) for a considerable length of time?

ABOUT ME

Hey y'all! I am super new to couch surfing but I really love the concept. It is restoring my faith in humanity.

I love learning about as many things as possible about as many different subjects as possible. A good fun fact and a well place jazz hand will make my day anytime. I'd rather not judge in the first place, but if I am to form an opinion, I'd like to do it from first-hand experience. We've got one life to live in this body, so I believe there's no point living it based on someone else's preconceived notion of a life well lived. I am of the idea that when people are on their deathbed, they usually don't wish they'd made more money. They wish they'd let things go sooner, lived without regret, and loved without fear a little more. From this perspective, it seems silly to live life in pursuit of the former.

If I don't fear death, then why should I fear life?

I have spent a lot of time staring at this blank part just trying to think of one big amazing thing that has happened in my life, but I have realized I have been going about it all wrong. It doesn't have to be a big thing to leave you awestruck, rather it's the small things that I think hold more value - the things the most people take for granted or don't even notice. A kind smile to a stranger, a door held open for the person behind you, or that person that hands you a coin when you spent your last one, these people expect nothing in return for their kindness. People, moments, and acts like this are what leave me truly awestruck.
