Overview
About Me
I grew up in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia with my Mom and brother around Kings County, and have continued to make home and live here for most of my 30+ years. I make a living teaching, performing, and involving myself in musical activities in our community of Wolfville and have since I was 14.
I play lots of instruments - guitar, bass, banjo, drums, saxophone, and mandolin to name a few - and perform in a Folk Rock band called The Chimney Swifts. I've always loved music, and very much enjoy jamming with people. I am often travelling with an instrument, and have done a few cross-Canada tours under my own name.
Passionate about learning, I love to dive into all sorts of activities and opportunities to try new things. I trained in Capoeira for over 6 years, and enjoy hiking and nature excursions. I love trying new foods and experiencing new cultures and learning what I can about other parts of the world and peoples' experience of them. I also enjoy cooking and am excited to learn more about different dishes and things people around the world like to cook.
I have a loving partner and two children. We travel together sometimes, and we all love the thrill of seeing and exploring new places. Traveling with my family and playing music is a big dream of mine, and we are so excited to see more of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm excited to connect with people all over the world and have the opportunity to make those connections while performing throughout. There are so many sights to see, songs to hear, people to meet, and I just love the idea of being a part of a community that supports people in being able to take part in the joys of seeing the world.
Interests
I really enjoy trying new instruments. I love to see how I can apply what I've learned about music to something new. And I love seeing every different person's take on music, something that connects us all across every culture and tradition.
I love to get out and see the sites, and I also love staying in and sharing stories. I like to go with the flow and am open to adventure suggestions and recommendations that a host may have. I'm generally pretty easy going and not too fussy about things. I can also sometimes help out if there is some work to be done while I'm around - I'm pretty handy.
