ABOUT ME

i am trusting that the universe will take care of me and actually letting it. i got rid of all of my possessions, my job, my house, took to the road and am seeing the universe while traveling the country. i'm figuring out what it means to need, to want, to have and to lose. trying to learn to live creatively, figuring out what i have to offer, and learning to survive outside "the system." living every day like it is my last or everyone's.

PHILOSOPHY

i'm a cynical optimist. i experience such deep joy and appreciation for the smallest, grandest, and simplest of things yet i am accustomed to the weight of despair that comes with an honest examination of the world we live in.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

it has always been very important to me to offer up my couch, floor, chairs, blankets, and pillows to anyone who has need of them. i've had an uncountable number of bands crash at my place for no other reason than they said on stage that they didn't have anywhere to sleep that night. when i move into a new place or with new people, it has always been with the stipulation that it be ok if you come home and some random person's sleepin on the couch. i've been blessed with great friends that i've shared this sense of community with for most of my adult life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i haven't actually stayed with anyone from this site yet, but i've been crashin on friends and friends of friends couches for the last couple months. every experience has been great so far.

i geek out pretty hard on things i find interesting and i find so so so many things so very interesting. the things that top my list of interests include:

hiking/mountain climbing, mushroom hunting, biking, reading, organics, toxic-phobias, deconstruction, wildness, survival/primitive skills, feminism, music, gardening (and yes, i know "to garden is to be civilized." but i'm a pragmatic gal), rewilding, DIY, vegan cooking (i'm not veg though), going to shows, the stars, activism, metaphysics, meditation, yoga, traveling, bugs, psychedelics, rocks/crystals/minerals, plant identification, herbal folk medicine

music: anything good from genres ranging from folk to punk, metal, instrumental, classic rock, indie, noise, pop, oldies... just as long as it pulls my heartstrings or turns me into a ball of rage!
