About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Spot a Kakapo!

ABOUT ME

I am an easy going person, open minded, tolerant and curious about other cultures and new, interesting and different people and languages. I enjoy talking to others, cooking for friends and like to get to know new people from all over the world. I love being out in the nature or just going somewhere for a drink. After a Gap Year in New Zealand I started university. I'm addicted to photography, travelling and all stuff connected with marine biology.

PHILOSOPHY

"The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page." Aurelius Augustinus

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started backpacking for the first time when I went to NZ. Now for me this is the best way to travel! The world gets smaller for each time I travel and I think that couchsurfing is the pick of the bunch. Right now I finished my Master of Science in Biology at the JCU in Townsville and travel down the East Coast of Australia and New Zealand before I start my Phd (http://art-of-oceania.blogspot.com.).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Interests

I love everything connected with nature; travelling, camping, going out for a walk with my dog or having a nice picnic in the sun. Every time I stay in front of the open sea I get hooked by it and can't stop just standing there and watching it, feeling the sea breeze in my hair. I also like taking pictures; every stone, every plant in itself is beautiful and I can enjoy it. Besides I try to learn as much as possible about marine biology.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing a humpbackwhale just right next to our research boat in the Great Barrier Reef that was taking some breaths for a couple of minutes and going back down in the ocean - the most amazing thing I've ever experienced.

But also travelling through New Zealand with its breathtaking landscape, getting up in the morning, having all day to spend on whatever you want to do in this amazing country...
