About Me

I'm a FGLI (First Generation Low Income) student at UPenn and my primary job is working as a research assistant at CHOP. I grew up in Iowa outside of a town of 400, but I have completely fallen in love with the East Coast, so I'm probably here to stay. I've started learning French in college and I would like to continue -- why bother learning a language unless you plan to use it! On top of that, I love new food, new places, books, and coffee. I LOVE coffee. I also love animals, especially dogs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because you should be able to travel and meet amazing people without going broke!

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch movies (I know, please don't get me), but I love reading books. I like classics mostly (Tolstoy, F. Scott Fitzgerald, etc.) but I also like a lot of more heavy pop science books (The Selfish Gene).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Beijing, China the summer after graduating high school and lived alone there working at Peking University. It was terrifying but amazing. Beijing has some of the most incredible historical sites I've ever seen, and I think my favorite one was the Forbidden City.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm kind of shy. I think that's the whole -I grew up in a town of 400 thing coming out- but I love to learn and try new things. I hope that I can share my willingness to learn and my dry sense of humor.

Countries I’ve Visited

China
