ABOUT ME

I grew up in a sleepy little village in the English countryside, but now I have the travel bug and can't wait to fly the nest and explore!

My first stop was the Caribbean, where I taught English and volunteered for an eco-project. Next stop was Taiwan, where I studied Mandarin and volunteered on a sweet-potato farm.

I believe that travelling should be about trying to make the world a better place, so I always try to volunteer or share things with local people along my journey.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In summer 2018 I was hosted by some awesome people as I cycled from Lille to Amsterdam. My hosts gave me some amazing encouragement, rescued me from a rain storm, fixed my bike, and introduced me to many local beers.
Since then, it has been my pleasure to host two female solo travellers in Beijing. Currently, I do not have my own home so cannot host for the time being, but I would love to again in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first ever couchsurfing experience was unforgettable. I was hosted in Sichuan, China, and my host took me to a panda sanctuary! Definitely 10/10.

兴趣

My perfect day would be a long hike in the mountains followed by a cold beer. Most my hobbies involved doing sports (running, cycling, windsurfing) and cooking lots of food.
I also love watching YouTube videos of cute animals.

I find language learning fascinating, if you teach me some fun words in your language then I will introduce you to English slang from my hometown!

I once tried to share an English delicacy with my host - Marmite on toast. But they said it was so disgusting that now I avoid bringing any English food.
