Music makes my world go round. Dance is the way I express my gratitude for the pure joy that it brings me. I like to move through the world with a sense of appreciation of this thing we call life, and enjoy it at a reasonably mellow pace. If I am traveling it is most likely for music, or dance or a combination thereof, but I love to camp and hike also, preferably near a natural body of clean water. Tubing, surfing, floating, boating, swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, are some of my favorite verbs (other than dancing). One of the best trips that I have taken was a week long hot spring tour in the pacific northwest. I mapped out some of the most primitive hot springs in the northwest and made a big loop. It was truly a great adventure :) I'm currently learning how to play the guitar and the ukulele and I love to sing. My next trip will be to Italy and I am working on my Italian, although it is going quite slowly and I must admit I am a bit afraid to loose the spanish that I have learned and worked hard to maintain. At home I love gardening and working with plants and enjoy experimenting with cooking and fermenting. I walk and ride my bike to work as much as possible and try to minimize my impact on the environment by making responsible choices in my day to day life. The yogic tradition is a source of great inspiration for me and my practice keeps me dancing, young at heart and sound of mind and body. I believe in breathing deeply in difficult situations, keeping an open mind, asking questions, and above all being kind.

I like to travel on a whim, meet people and really get a feel for where I'm staying, saving money is a plus too, then I can see a show or go out for a nice dinner without braking the bank. I'm a people person and I get along with pretty much anyone, within reason. I don't need any frills. I'm single and I have no children, so theres no one else to worry about making things comfortable for. I have tended to visit where I have friends, and stay with them, but I like exploring places where I don't know anyone too. I run my own business and I make my own hours so I can be as spontaneous as I like, and its often hard to find accommodations last minute...all these things make couch surfing perfect for me :)
