I grew up in the United States, but I have recently moved to Lille, France for my studies.

I travel fairly often, so it's always nice to find a warm place to crash or a nice face to laugh with and have a beer. Unfortunately, though I am unable to host, I will always be happy to get brunch, coffee or go out and show my city to new comers, because I love meeting new and diverse people as well as sharing knowledge and stories with them.

Movies: Any Lars von Trier, Wes Anderson, or Gaspar Noe.

Books: I have a constant inner struggle between wanting to read something of substance about philosophy or political theory, but then there's always trashy romance novels..

When I was in high school, I founded my own chapter of Girls Learn International - a group dedicated to help girls around the world have the right to an education. Because I did that, the organization reached out and invited me to speak on a panel at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. That's when I realized that I want to do things pertaining to politics and human rights for a living!
