About Me

I'm a lover of people and nature. I love to travel, do yoga, weave, and almost any kind of art or outdoor activity. I participate in community activism here in Houston mostly around the environment and equity. I'm currently taking a break from the rat race and exploring my creativity through rug weaving! Let's go see some art and sit in on a civic meeting--I'm a dork like that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to make friends and learn about how others live in different places and absorb a different lifestyle for a bit.

Music, Movies, and Books

Jazz and soul music are my default sounds, but I also enjoy folk and some country (I'm from Texas afterall). I will watch 100 documentaries before I watch movies, but lately I've been interested in claymation films and anything by Wes Anderson.

Books are life. Right now I'm reading "My life on the road" by Gloria Steinam. Also just finished a graphic novel by Richy Chandler called "When are you going to get a proper job?" (great for any creative struggling with making money and juggling family life). All time favorite book is "The discovery of Jeanne Baret" about the first woman to circumnavigate the globe in a ship. She did it dressed as a man and actually discovered many of the plants we know today.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Developed a public advocacy campaign that led to $10 million of investment in bike infrastructure in the oil capital of the world--Houston.

Teach, Learn, Share

All the above

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a pretty decent understanding of urban design and civil engineering that is neat to walk around with people and share. You might not notice the width of the sidewalk or why a curb radius is the way it is...but I can teach you that!

Also love to cook--so let's share food :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Italy, Laos, Mexico, Thailand, United Kingdom
