Hi, I'm Jes! I am a 23 year old, recent film school graduate. I recently made a film about Chicken Beauty Pagents in Indonesia and Malaysia, it's coming out sometime this year- check out the trailer here

I hate "cafe-hopping, flat-lays, updates on instagram" type of travelling. Travelling for me means seeing for myself how others around the world live, and immersing myself in new experiences.

I NEED to spend time in nature just to remind myself that the world is bigger than my little stresses and worries.

I may be on the reserved side on the chatty scale, but give me about 15 minutes and I'd be hampering you with questions about your life, interests and extended family.

I am a little bit of a neat freak, but I can appreciate controlled chaos. Having lived on my own since my late teens, I pick up after myself and promise not to leave your house looking like rockstars came by for a visit. My friends can vouch for my excellent dishwashing skills.

I speak English, Chinese, Indonesian and have recently picked up a bit of Spanish. (But only un poco and bastante mal) But I'm working on it!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling solo in Europe for a month, getting anxiety attacks on the way there (like what if I get kidnapped, what if I miss the last bus) but forgetting all about my fears when talking to friendly locals, eating delicious food and looking down at an unfamiliar panorama and feeling like I'm on top of the world.

Cycling against the sunset in Vangvien, Laos to a waterfall, and getting stuck up in the mountains because there was no light to guide our way down the mountain. Hitched a ride on a lorry and admired the stars on the road back to the city centre. BEST NIGHT EVER.

Losing my passport on a train in Italy and FREAKING OUT, and getting kicked out of my state of depression after eating the best lasagna ever cooked by my friend's Momma. Milla Grazie Mama!!
