CURRENT MISSION

To meet up with my BFF who is currently residing in Canada, while I reside in Bahrain. We are two complete opposites, but mesh well together and are a great pair to have around because we bring the best in each other out.

ABOUT ME

I think I am a person of many layers due to difficulties I have been able to overcome. I lived a 40 year old's life in my 20's. I realized I was a very unhappy person and left that life to teach english in South Korea. This is where the travel bug bit me. Since finishing my contract in Korea I have been residing in Bahrain trying to figure out where to go next. Then I was given this site, and see it as an oppurtunity to visit other places in the world and learn about the culture there from those who live it...can't find that in all inclusives.
Oh yeah, thanks to spell check I can no longer spell on my own...so if there are mistakes throughout this profile...blame technology for making me too lazy to proof read...lol!

PHILOSOPHY

Everybody I come across is an oppurtunity for me to learn more about myself. I embrace differences and celebrate similarities. Everyplace I travel I find these oppurtunities. Life is learning, and the more I learn the more I've lived.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will take...then give once I have settled somewhere and have a good understanding of the area...that way I can give the full experience to my couch guest. My goal is to experience different cultures, and take in some great sunsets and sunrises while I am at it. My way of giving back will be to understand the culture where I am living, know a few hot spots...but most importantly, know where to go to show the sunsets and sunrises in that particular country.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have witnessed great intellegence in those labelled as intellectually disabled. Due to the contradiction between who the people were, are, and how they are labelled, I will never base expectations of another on race, ethnicity, color, gender, or stereotypes. I will never prejudge a culture on what is read or what is portrayed on the news. I doubt I will have expectations period as to not be victim to culture shock...I will take all experiences as they come and draw my opinions from my own personal experience...and this outlook was taught to me by those labelled intellectually disabled.
