Overview
About Me
There was a time in my life where my home was a backpack and my family were the people I met on the road. These days I've planted roots in Tucson, Arizona where I live with my partner, our two dogs, and our cute cat.
I am queer and a big advocate the LGBTQIA2S+ community, sex workers, and reproductive rights .
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was first introduced to Couchsurfing about 14 years ago at a beach hostel in San Diego. For more than a year after that, this website was a bit of a lifeline for me as I did the whole "On The Road" thing. The people I met during this time changed the trajectory of my existence in so many ways.
As my life settled down I found myself logging in less and less until eventually couchsurfing became a cute memory from my past. These days I travel around in more "traditional" ways (planes, hotels, Airbnbs), but always find myself missing the friendships and experiences that I once found in places like hostels and random couchsurfer's spaces.
I have a beautiful home with plenty of room to host others now, and would love to pay the kindness that was shown to me, forward to others.
Interests
To quote 20 year old couchsurfing me, "I am interested in becoming interested in things that have yet to interest me." I genuinely enjoy new experiences and opportunities to expand my understanding of the different ways we all choose to approach life.
I want to know what the best restaurants in your town are and where I should go for coffee.
I'm a book nerd and animal lover and will surely spend a significant amount of time with your book collections and pets if they are available to me.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Deathcab for Cutie, Megan Thee Stallion, Noah Kahan
Movies: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Across the Universe, Big Fish
Books: Welcome to The Monkey House, Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, The Will to Change
These are just a few examples of some of my favorites! I consider myself very open minded when it comes to art and would love to learn about some of the stuff you like!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm very proud of the fact that at 20 years old, I spent nearly 2 years hitchhiking around the country using resources such as couchsurfing to thrive. A lot of really incredible things happened for me and the idea that people are mostly good was truly reaffirmed in my mind.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have my 500hr yoga certification and have taught many styles of yoga, in a variety of spaces, for many years. If you are interested in me guiding you through a session and time allows for it… I would be honored to do that for you!
If you’re ever in Tucson, I can share great places for food, hiking, shopping, shows and more!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I think the possibilities for valuable exchanges between a host and couchsurfer are endless and often ineffable.
