About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn and experience as much as possible.
ABOUT ME
I love learning how to do new things and enjoy listening to others because I can discover so much in doing so.
I grew up in Missouri. After college, I immmediately left to work in Italy as an au pair for a couple of years, where I had the time of my life. I reluctantly left to put my degree to use and give teaching a try back in the States, but returning to Missouri after Italy was difficult! I especially missed the mountains and the outdoor lifestyle, so I moved to Colorado. I'm currently working as a nanny in Colorado and loving it.
PHILOSOPHY
I often wrestle with the question "why are we here - what is the purpose of life?" I suppose none of us can really know the answer, but for me, I want to continue to learn so that I can try to better understand life and help in whatever way I can to make the world a better place.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment, I'm on the cusp of a job change. So things are rather hectic, and I won't be able to host for a while.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couchsurfed all over the western United States, although I was traveling with someone else who sent most of the couchsurfing requests, so many of the references are not on my page. I've also couchsurfed in Italy and done some hosting myself.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm horrible at remembering names of titles, authors, musicians, groups, etc. In general, my favorites are anything that moves me enough to make me laugh, cry, or really think about life/society/the world.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen and experienced so many amazing things in my relatively short life (for which I'm truly grateful) that it is hard to choose. One that sticks out in my mind is camping under a sky filled with more stars than I've ever seen before in the White Desert, which is a part of the Sahara in Egypt where there are wonderful white chalk formations that look like sculptures sticking up out of the sand. As the sun set over the horizon, these chalk formations seemed to glow and come alive. At night, the only thing I could see were the stars because there were no other people, let alone houses or lights, around.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to the kitchen -in both cooking and baking- and I love to share my skills.
As for learning things myself, I'm interested in just about everything!
