About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live passionately and hold nothing back.

ABOUT ME

Currently pursuing a degree in Veterinary Medicine! I am part of the NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 2017! :)

I love my friends and family to death, and honestly would do anything for them. I am very passionate about a lot of things, and try really hard to maintain positive energy through simple, everyday tasks. I think the energy you put into something will be reflected back to you.

I love just about anything. Bars, clubbing, historic tours, simply enjoying coffee and breakfast somewhere quiet to think. Alwayssss depends on my mood! :)

My favorite thing is to be around people! So I'd love to meet you, and your friends!

PHILOSOPHY

I need to laugh, all the time, and feed a hunger to always know more about the world around me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently living in Utrecht, Netherlands. I cannot very easily host people because I am sub-leasing, but I'd love to hang out and entertain you while you visit the area!
I am also trying to travel as much as possible this summer, as I have a very limited time in Europe!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My friend and I surfed with an awesome guy in DC 2 summers ago. We had a great time exploring the city with him and he was an excellent host.
I've also hung out/camped with a lot of sufers, most recently in Olympic National Park where I camped with 9 (mostly) strangers for 2 days! And then crashed one of their couches the night after camping.

Interests

LOVE the outdoors. That includes adventuring around it either climbing, kayaking, hiking, and backpacking. I lived in Colorado a couple summers ago and loved everything about that state. Lots of passionate people who understand the value of staying active and enjoying everything you have around you. Can't wait to go back!
Also really into sustainability and environmental awareness, and I love supporting local agriculture and farmers. I'm dying to be able to have a huge garden and grow most of my own food, but my yard doesn't get enough sunlight for that right now. :( And I'm totally in love with bees and I'm hoping to have a hive next spring so I can harvest some honey!

Music, Movies, and Books

Lately have been reading books about the politics of the American food industry. The Omnivores Dilemma, Animal Vegetable Miracle, The Sheer Ecstasy of Being a Lunatic Farmer, etc.

I am so passionate about music. And I truly believe that where words fail, music speaks. I am open to just about any genre and listen to so many different kinds. Sometimes it's a country day, or bluegrass, or R&B, and Oldies never get old; any of my friends will tell you that I listen to pretty much everything. I don't play anything though! But I listen really well. :)
I also just returned from the Coachella Music Festival in Southern California. Wow, totally had my mind blown. SO much incredible live music, I cannot even describe what it was like. You just have to go.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My favorite memory and place in the world is Delicate Arch in Arches National Park in Utah. The hike up there is so suspenseful, you can't see anything, until you round the corner. And it's right there. This enormous arch, with a huge bowl shape in front of it, and the La Sal mountains behind it. It's so majestic and perfect. I've been twice now, and I was awestruck beyond words. You have to go there. Bring dinner, and eat it during sunset with the arch in front of you. You won't regret it.
