About Me
Hi! My name is Jessie Abdow, and I am a 22 year old recent graduate of Wesleyan University. I grew up in Amherst, Massachusetts and went on to study English at Wesleyan. After graduating from college and spending the summer working at my childhood summer camp in New Hampshire, I have been living at home in Amherst, MA and going hard on the job searching process. I'm hoping to work this year with children - in an after-school program or other youth organization. I am passionate about many things: dancing, singing, acting, reading, watching movies, playing/snuggling with my dog Benji, playing piano and guitar, hanging out with friends pretty much all the time, playing frisbee and other sports/just generally running around outside with friends, feminism, summer camp, babies, skiing, swimming, cheese, and eggs Benedict...to name a few. I am very friendly and humbly believe that I have above-average people skills and would be a delight to host. I like to cook and LOVE to do the dishes/help out in any way. I am very neat and will leave your house looking better than when I arrived. I hope to meet lots of people on my road trip thanks to Couchsurfing!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My friend Kathryn Wheeler and I are going on a huge post-grad road trip starting October 2017 to celebrate/mourn our graduation, "find ourselves," and explore some beautiful and crazy parts of the country! We will be doing a lot of camping and staying with friends, but are also hoping to use Couchsurfing as a way to see more places and meet lots of interesting folks. Although unfortunately we were just recently introduced to Couchsurfing and have not had much of an opportunity to create a network, we are hoping to stay with as many people as possible and thus expand that network. We hope to make our road-trip as adventurous, people-oriented, and inexpensive as possible - Couchsurfing seems to be a perfect fit for us for all of these reasons.

Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach my hosts how to moonwalk, how to cook Lebanese food and say a few things in Arabic, how to taste wine, or how to do some yoga. I'm hoping to learn people's stories, and what it is like to live in the particular area that they live in - and any other interests that we might have in common or not! I hope to share my personal outlook on life and people, and to hear the same from the people that I'm staying with.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my compassion and open mind, my musical abilities, and my interest in learning about other people.
