About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Expanding my comfort zone
ABOUT ME
I'm in a bit of a mid-youth-crisis. Partly because I'm terribly afraid of getting old as I enjoy being young so much and partly because I feel like I haven't quite figured out who I am yet, which makes it hard for me to imagine a future in which I can further develop said persona. Or as Oscar Wilde puts it:
"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation."
So I guess I'm just trying to stop being other people (yes, I see the irony in that statement) and find "my thing", something I'm passionate about, maybe even good at. So I try to challenge myself, leaving my comfort-zone, not being a creature of habit.
I think the more you change your routine and challenge yourself the more your time counts in retrospective.
PHILOSOPHY
"One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star."
- Niezsche -
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have a roof, bed, blanket and pillow. I cook. I'm generally interested, I listen and talk. I travel and share my stories. I'm a decent social drinker and good company for a night out. And I'm up for any shenanigans you might come up with or will come up with my own.
Interests
I get exited about new things easilly but loose interest in them just as quickly. It's all about doing things, if nothing else, they might stil make for a good story.
I read. As in: a lot. I like sociological texts, as they help me change my perspective and clear my views on things, history-texts for they explain the current status quo and I love novels.... because.
I think reading is like thinking through someone else’s mind, which in my opinion is the only way to expand your own thinking plus it's great getting out of my own messy head for a while.

Music, Movies, and Books
Love it all (although my order would be Books, Music & Movies)
It all changes so quickly, though. Also I tend to be a wee bit self-conscious about my own taste, although it's quite exquisite ;)
Books:
All Quiet on the Western Front - Erich Maria Remarque, Slaughterhouse Five - Kurt Vonnegut, A Clockwork Orange - Anthony Burgess, A Catcher in the Rye - J. D. Salinger, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. A Trilogy of Five - Douglas Adams, Harry Potter (heptalogy) - J. K. Rowling, Everything is Illuminated - Jonathan Safran Foer, I think that gives you an idea.
Music:
I'd say broad; funk, hip-hop, some electronic music, some Indie, some folk, some pop, some reggae...
Movies:
I'm watching a lot of documentaries lately.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Everything is amazing!
Like have you ever seen a flash of light when sitting in a completely dark room, it's called a photonic boom – the collision of light particles (photons) as they are slowed down from air speed to the speed they travel in the fluid of your eyes.
-amazing!
