About Me
Hi, I’m Jess 👋 I’m a registered nurse living in Adelaide, Australia. I grew up in China and have been calling Adelaide home since 2011, so I feel very connected to both cultures.
I’m very, very new to Couchsurfing, so my profile is still quite empty and I don’t have any references yet. Everyone has to start somewhere, and I’m hoping to meet more people through the community, whether that’s over a coffee, a walk, a meal, or a stay, and slowly build genuine connections and references along the way.
I haven’t done a huge amount of travelling so far, but I’m really keen to explore more of the world. I’m currently planning a trip to Sydney and Brisbane in February, and I’d love to start using Couchsurfing to meet locals, learn about places through people, and experience travel in a more meaningful way.
I enjoy meeting new and interesting people, sharing stories, and having good conversations. I’m open-minded, respectful, and easygoing, and I’m here with genuine intentions to connect and learn.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m here to meet interesting people, share stories, and connect with locals while exploring the world in a more personal way. I love learning about different cultures, hearing unique perspectives, and discovering life through other people’s eyes. Couchsurfing feels like the perfect way to combine travel, curiosity, and real human connection.
Interests
I enjoy meeting new people and making genuine connections. I love trying new things. Painting, drawing, dancing, snowboarding, water sports (even if I’m not great at them 😄), and exploring the beautiful things in life, from sunshine and beaches to good food and meaningful moments. Everything I do is more about curiosity and fun than skill.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 19, I moved all the way from China to Australia by myself, a completely new country with a new language, culture, and way of life. It was challenging, exciting, and full of firsts, but I managed to build a life, make a living, and grow into the person I am today. Looking back, it’s one of the most transformative and empowering experiences of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m happy to share stories, experiences, and local insights. I’d love to learn from others about travel, culture, food, hobbies, or just life in general.
