About Me

I grew up in Mexico and the USA. My husband is English but grew up in various areas, too. Since getting married we have lived in Angola and Kuwait and a few other places together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling and meeting new people. The people are part are the most enriching part of a culture. You can't get that expirence or easily meet locals at hotels. I am greatful for opportunities to see life through other people and learn something to enrich mine. Thanks for considering me/us as a guest/s in your home.

Interests

I'm open to everything... Once anyways. I enjoy good food, eating out, cooking, wine, drinks great conversations about politics, religion, traveling, people. I like outdoors and well as indoor activities like movies or skydiving. I'm adventures but not all adventures agree with me. I went gorilla trekking earlier this year up a volcano and wanted to cry and give up by the end. I cursed every dessert and glass of wine and wish I had exercised, but survived in the end and it was amazing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not very good at keeping up with what’s hot, hip or new in music. I can generally appreciate most music and I'm on my sister's family iTunes so I download all her music for free. I love pop or rock catchy music, up beat stuff. My reading changes with my mental state of the time, sometimes I want to learn and improve so I pick up books like An Organized Mind or books about learning a new language; for the times I want to escape life I read books like The Life of Pi; As part of a book club we read a lot of books about Africa some historical or biographical. When I lived in the US I watched a lot of foriegn and Indy movies and never TV, because I didn’t have cable. Now that I live abroad I love American block busters like the Marvel superhero ones or Startrek—yes, my husband made me watch and now I like them. I am addicted shows like How to get away with murder, Criminal Minds, Jane the virgin (I know, but come on, it's so riciculous you have to watch it, like a train wreck!), the Crown and Stranger Things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One! I’m proud of having swam in devil's pool in Victoria Falls, skydived and seeing the big 5 African animals in the wild. My husband and have traveled to over 30 countries, I think that’s amazing and I’m very lucky.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to be taught, to learn from others and for people to share with me ;) I do enjoying cooking so maybe I can share that, but I do feel I have more to learn than teach. I can practice another language with people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not really sure what to write here. I like having fun and relaxing, I'm friendly and can join in the fun or entertain myself easily. If you want to try something you've been meaning to do I can easily be convinced to be a sidekick or be supportive. I like to go out but can't too many late nights--that ended in my 20s. I need sleep now. I'm clean and organized.
