ABOUT ME

I'm an engineer by day and a salsa dancer at night. I help teach some salsa classes, organize dance events, and have much fun doing it. I'm animated, goofy, swear a lot, play games, active with a bunch of other stuff, hang out with some great friends, get outside, you know, stuff like that.

PHILOSOPHY

I like to laugh and have fun -- I try to keep my mind open on how to achieve that. I'm always trying new things and exploring new parts of myself I didn't know existed. I want to look back and feel like I walked down an interesting path, not a typical path.

I've hosted several people in Boise and have been to some CS meet-ups, but haven't surfed yet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No official couchsurfing.org experience yet, but I did travel for a year and half and stayed with many people who were strangers or that I barely knew. Those experiences changed my life.

Interests

Dancing, volleyball, skiing, soccer, biking, hiking, music, food, laughing, games. I also love random, no-itinerary, flexible days where you go with the flow and fun things happen. Like I accidentally helped make a stupid move clip one day of zombies chasing some urban ninja guys.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like historical fiction for reading, I prefer action movies and good dramas/comedies (Silver Linings Playbook, Slumdog Millionaire, etc.).
Music is a weird blend of latin, hip hop, and folk rock.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favorite moments was a winter hike above Lake Louise in Banff National Park in Alberta. After trudging through knee deep snow for awhile (snow shoes next time, genius), sat down, ate some snow, and enjoyed the view of the bright green lake that wasn't frozen yet. It was snowing out, but I remember that it was 100% silent. No people, no birds, no trees crackling, just quiet. Like nature was meditating so I just joined in on the action (or lack thereof). I think that's the most peaceful moment of my life.
