ABOUT ME

My name is Jessica Sturm. I am living out my early 20s, quite happily in fact.

I am half Italian, half NYC jew, and I live in Toronto with my family. So, I'm frequently spoiled with my nonna's eggplant parmigiana, but I also know how to enjoy a good apple hamentashen.

I love telling stories,writing and travelling. I think it's just my nosey, i mean curious, nature. For the record, I read craigslist.com daily.

My more constructive hobbies include selling clothing at my local shopping mall, and tutoring immigrants English. It works out well. I teach them nouns and verbs, they teach me life lessons. For instance, my Gujerati student just taught me how to make butter chicken.

I've travelled to, let's say (too lazy to count).... 14 countries in Europe. I've been to Israel as well. Loved Israel! A bit of East Asia too.

PHILOSOPHY

I used to be really shy. But when j-skool assignments forced me to interview strangers on the mean Toronto streets, armed only with a pen and notebook, I came out of my shy girl shell. So now i love chatting with anyone. An accomplishment, I guess.

And my personal philosphy? I feel like I haven't "lived" enough to have one yet. I do know that I live my life for the joy of exploring, the sunshine on my shoulders, and the love from friends and family.
Oh gosh, but I swear I'm more cynical than sensitive (despite what I just wrote! hah).

Vintage clothing finds (any item under makes me happy), current affairs magazines, wandering through cities, radio production, cultures and feasting on wholesome food.

swam in the dead sea (it burned!), landed at princess juliana airport in st. martin, observed shabbat in jerusalem, drank unicum in hungary, was gifted with a bag of wild strawberries in christiania, and umm, saw the town house that my dad grew up in the bronx, ate my way through paris really cheaply, had a finnish love affair in south korea, got attacked by a korean school kid.
