About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel, write, photograph, and experience culture, people, and new adventures.

ABOUT ME

Camino de Santiago Frances 2022

I love music, trying new foods, photography, meeting new people, as well as experiencing new things and learning about other cultures. I want to travel to all seven continents. So far, I've been to 6! (Goal in life 6 by 30 accomplished May 31, 2017)

I believe that everyone has something interesting and wonderful to offer the world and I love sharing travel stories with other travelers. And if I could afford to scuba dive every single day, I would.

I really enjoy hiking and camping, and have hiked to the tallest point in my city, county, as well as several US States.

PHILOSOPHY

Without struggle, there is no progress.
Live to travel, travel to live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to meet couch surfers around the world and make new friends. I love exchanging travel stories.

Interests

Photography. Writing. Traveling. Food. Music. Hiking. Camping.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Shawshank Redemption. Apocalypse Now. Citizen Kane. Fight Club. Anything Coen Brothers. 3:10 to Yuma. Wall-E. Cinema Paradiso. Bicycle Thief.

My music taste is all over the place.

To Kill a Mockingbird. I wish I read more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In one dive, saw at least 5 manta rays and a whale shark, all in one place. Was my longest dive (67 minutes), and best and most memorable dive, ever.

Teach, Learn, Share

In most of Asia, traffic laws are mere suggestions. Follow the flow, don't freak out, and you'll be fine. Cross the roads at a slow and steady pace. And be ready to bargain.

Use your Lonely Planet like a map, not like the Bible.

Google Maps GPS works without data plan so you can still navigate without internet.

Just buy a local SIM card with data. It's so worth it.

I'd love to learn about people's personal experiences regarding places they've traveled. What they loved and hated there. What I MUST do at a place. And what types of food they enjoy eating.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook for you, share interesting stories, or bring a bottle (wine, gin, whiskey, vodka).
