CURRENT MISSION

At the moment I am travelling New Zeland with my boyfriend David. We are both Social Workers and we also want to contribute some voluntary work, while we are travelling. So we are volunteering with an organization called Prison Fellowship, that is near to Wellington at the moment. Mid of December we´ll go on with our travels by visiting the South Island and heading to Australia afterwards.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I am travelling I want to meet local people and learn more about their culture. I don´t like it to do just the tourist stuff on my journeys. I want to experience the way of living in this country.

Interests

I like to meet & chill with friends. I love to cook and bake if I have time for it. Listening to music and singing is essential for me. I was the singer of a coverband a few years ago. We travelled through Germany from time to time while playing on weddings and 40th birthdays and stuff like this :-D
A few years later I discovered the Berlin nightlife and fell in love with the music, the love and the vibe! Dancing to electronic beats became a passion and I met so many awesome, lovely and crazy people from all over the world through it. Furthermore I enjoy different outdoor sports and surfing. If the weather is too bad, I prefer reading a good book while listening to the rain outside.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2012 I went to Cape Town for 6 month. I was doing an internship in a shelter for HIV infected children. Working in of of the biggest townships in South Africa and meeting people from all over the world changed my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Maybe you can learn a bit German from me. One of my jobs in Berlin is teaching mothers with migrational background (most of them are refugees). They come to our course with their 3-24 month old babies. We play and sing, but I also teach them basic German and give advise about health and bureaucratic stuff.
